The Coolest New Products I Found On Sephora.com This Month: April 2019

Sooo who else is super nervous about the Battle of Winterfell? I just know I’m going to be emotionally devastated by the end of the night. Whaddaya say we have a chat about some new beauty products to distract ourselves? Sounds good? Awesome.

Nudestix Nude Beach Festival Kit $75

nudestix nude beach festival kit

What it is:

A set of eye, lip, and cheek crayons.

Why it’s cool:

I recently purchased one of the eye pencils from Nudestix and the matte bronzer in Sunkissed and I’ve been completely obsessed with them. This set it a great value, and the products in this set are excellent. Although I haven’t tried the exact colors that are in this set, with the exception of Sunkissed, I’ve been very impressed by the formulation of the Nudestix gel lip colors and the eye crayons. The gel lip colors are extremely comfortable to wear, and the eye crayons actually last on my oily eyelids without primer, which is a very rare occurrence.

However, if I had to pick a favorite product in this set, it would actually be the bronzer, Sunkissed. If you have a deep skin tone, this might be a bronzer on you, but for anyone with light to medium skin, this is actually a blush. Sunkissed is the perfect name for this color because it mimics the color skin takes on after being in the sun, almost a sunburn kind of color, but not quite. It’s one of the most flattering blushes I’ve ever worn. On top of the color being perfect,  the formulation is wonderful. It blends out quickly and evenly, doesn’t wear away quickly even in 90+ degree temperatures, and it doesn’t go patchy. Sunkissed is also available on its own, so even if you don’t want to purchase this whole set you can still purchase Sunkissed. Yay!

Sephora Collection Hot Line Brush Tip Liquid Liner $14

sephora collection hot line liquid eyeliner

What it is:

A brush tip liquid eyeliner.

Why it’s cool:

While there’s nothing particularly remarkable about this liquid liner (although it does claim to be waterproof), I feel like brush tip liquid eyeliners are fairly rare, so I wanted to bring this one to your attention. Plus, it’s pretty affordable as far as Sephora products go. Personally, I strongly prefer a brush tip liquid eyeliner over a felt tip, so this is exciting news for me. Do you prefer felt tip or brush tip?

Milk Makeup Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Hydrating Face Mask $24

milk makeup cannabis sativa face mask

What it is:

A hydrating clay face mask.

Why it’s cool:

If you’re like me, you probably associate clay masks with drying up oils in the skin. This mask from Milk uses clay to cleanse the skin, but combines aloe and cannabis sativa oil to hydrate the skin. It’s an interesting combination that I think will be especially helpful for people with combination skin.

HUM Nutrition Skin Heroes Pre + Probiotic Clear Skin Supplement $40

hum skin heroes

What it is:

A supplement with a blend of prebiotics and probiotics to improve gut health and support clear skin.

Why it’s cool:

Gut health is a major factor in overall health, and a problem in the gut can have all kinds of consequences on the body. As for acne, there are many different causes, both internal and external, but acne can be a sign that something is wrong in the gut. This supplement from HUM contains a blend of probiotics, which are strains of beneficial bacteria that the gut needs to function properly, and prebiotics, which act as a food source for the bacteria. Adding in good bacteria to the gut helps to overpower the bad bacteria and get the system working the way it should. As a result, it can also improve the skin. Even if your skin problems aren’t caused by an imbalance of bacteria in the gut, this supplement will still support your overall health by giving you a better balance of bacteria in your gut.

Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum $49

glow recipe pineapple brightening serum

What it is:

A serum designed to brighten and sooth the skin.

Why it’s cool:

What really stands out to me about this serum is the combination of skin-calming ingredients such as chamomile paired with AHA and Vitamin C to exfoliate, brighten, and smooth the skin. Hyaluronic acid and squalene also provide hydration to the skin. I think the balance of gentle ingredients and brightening ingredients makes for a nice, balanced, effective serum that should work well for a variety of skin types.

Dr. Jart+ Focuspot Micro Tip Patches $18

dr. jart micro tips

What it is:

Four different types of hyaluronic acid microneedling patches to treat various skin problems.

Why it’s cool:

I talked about another brand of microneedling patches last month, but Dr. Jart has taken this idea a step further by creating four different shapes and sizes of patches to treat different skin ailments. Another difference is that the “needles” in these patches are actually little tiny spikes of hyaluronic acid that dissolve in the skin. In addition to having different shapes to fit each area of the face, each type of patch also has a different blend of active ingredients. The lineup includes a patch to treat blemishes (hyaluronic acid + Vitamin B3), dark spots (hyaluronic acid + Vitamin C), dark circles (hyaluronic acid + Vitamin A), and lines and wrinkles (hyaluronic acid + Vitamin E).

The Glow Recipe serum caught my eye as well. I am honestly just really drawn to Glow Recipe. I’ve had nothing but good luck with their products and think the prices are good for high end skin care lines. I may pick it up after I use up my Sunday Riley Vitamin C oil.

Surprisingly, I don’t think I’ve tried anything from Glow Recipe yet. I always mean to, but I keep getting distracted by other shiny things lol. What are some of your favorites from Glow Recipe?

I really enjoy their famous Watermelon Sleeping Mask. I have oily-combo skin and it works wonders for me. I’ve also used a little sample of the watermelon moisturizer and enjoyed it as well!

I was thiiiis close to buying both of those during the Sephora sale, but then I decided to behave myself and use up the moisturizers I already have first. Self restraint is no fun
