Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Spring 2019
If you’ve never shopped the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale before, here’s how it works: Ulta discounts a few different products each day. Those products are available online and in-store for one day only. Additionally, some deals will be online only, but those deals usually aren’t unveiled until the day they’re on sale. Ulta will also be running a Hot Buys special, which are products discounted up to 40%. These discounts are available throughout the duration of the sale. This year’s sale begins on March 17, 2019 and ends on April 6, 2019. You can view the full lineup of deals here.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter
All of Becca’s primers will be 50% off on Thursday, March 21 marked down to $19, originally $39. The Becca Backlight Priming Filter is the only Becca primer I’ve tried, but wow is it good. This is one of my absolute favorite primers of all time. If you love having glowy skin, this is something to seriously consider. While it’s not a hydrating primer, it does provide a gorgeous glow that gets me compliments on my skin all the time. It has a slightly emollient texture, but not the slippery, slimy feeling of a silicone primer. For more details and swatches, you can check out my full review.
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay’s Primer Potion will be 50% off on Friday, March 22 marked down to $12, originally $24. If you asked me which beauty products I had repurchased the most, Urban Decay Primer Potion would undeniably be top five, if not number one. I’ve been using UD Primer Potion since it first launched. I’ve always had extremely oily, hooded eyelids, so getting eyeshadows to last on me is a very difficult task. Without primer, most eyeshadows disappear from my eyelids within about two hours. With Urban Decay Primer Potion, I’ve had eyeshadows last through heat, sweat, sleep, rain, allergies, sad movies, extremely long days, etc. I’ve tried several other eyeshadow primers over the years, and nothing makes my makeup last as well as Urban Decay Primer Potion does.
However, this primer can be a little too drying for people with dry or mature skin. Urban Decay does make an Anti-Aging version of this eyeshadow primer that is a bit more emollient, which might be enough to make it more wearable for some people. Another common issue people have with this primer is that the tackiness of the primer can make it more difficult to blend eyeshadow. If this is the case for you, I suggest setting the primer with a bit of face powder from the crease up to the brow bone. Doing this will take away some of the tackiness and make it easier to blend the shadows in your crease, but leaving the lid unset will help to keep your eyeshadow looking vivid and long-lasting.
Ulta sells five versions of Urban Decay Primer Potion. Original is a beige colored primer that dries clear. The Anti-Aging version of Primer Potion also dries clear and is a bit more hydrating than the original formula, making it a better option for people with dry and/or mature skin. Eden is the Urban Decay Primer Potion that I use most often because it has a slight yellow tint, which is really helpful if you have veiny eyelids like I do. It gives a more even canvas by canceling out some of the discoloration. Sin is a shimmery champagne shade that works beautifully underneath shimmer and glitter eyeshadows, or alone as a long-lasting cream eyeshadow. Minor Sin is also a shimmery champagne shade, but with less pigment and less glitter than Sin. It also makes a great eyeshadow, or you can use it to add some dimension and shine to your eyeshadow look. Urban Decay also makes a few other versions of Primer Potion, but they’re not available at Ulta.
Anastasia Brow Wiz
Anastasia Brow Wiz will be 50% off on Saturday, March 23 marked down to $10.50, originally $21. Do I actually need to go into detail about this one? It’s basically everyone’s favorite brow pencil. I used to stick to powders and tinted brow gels because I was always afraid that using a brow pencil would leave me with super blocky, fake-looking brows. I finally gave the ABH Brow Wiz a go, and it converted me to loving the look of a brow pencil.
The pencil has a very fine tip for making hair-like strokes, and a soft spoolie on the other end to brush the hairs into place. The texture and pigmentation of the pencil are perfect. The pencil is soft enough that you don’t have to apply a lot of pressure to get color payoff, but the pencil isn’t so pigmented that it deposits too much at once. It’s the perfect balance. It also lasts all day long on me, even in the Vegas heat. I wear the shade Taupe.
Nudestix Lip and Cheek Pencils
Nudestix Lip and Cheek Pencils will be 50% off on Wednesday, March 27 marked down to $13, originally $26. Nudestix Lip and Cheek Pencils are available in four formulas: cream, magnetic matte, intense matte, and gel color. My personal favorites are the cream and gel formulas because they’re more hydrating. I’ve reviewed a couple of these formulas in the past, so if you want to see swatches and learn more about the cream, gel, or magnetic matte formulas, check out those reviews.
Urban Decay Single Eyeshadows
Urban Decay Single Eyeshadows will be 50% off on Sunday, March 31, marked down to $10-11, originally $20-22. This sale includes the regular lineup of eyeshadows and the Moondust shadows. I love Urban Decay eyeshadows, but at regular price I think they’re just too expensive, especially when there are so many other excellent eyeshadows on the market. Since these shadows come packaged in their own little compact, I can see why they cost more than a shadow without a compact, but in my opinion it’s still more money than I think is realistic for most people to feel comfortable paying for one eyeshadow. However, at $10-11 it’s a lot more doable, especially if you only pick up a few shades that are either something unique that you’re not going to find in many other brands or a couple of shadows that you’ll get a ton of use out of.
A few of my fave neutrals are Sin, Tease, Foxy, Stray Dog, Snatch, and YDK. If you’re looking for something more colorful, Fireball, Psychedelic Sister, Last Call, and Haight are all great.
Too Faced Bronzers
Too Faced Bronzers will be 50% off Friday, April 5, marked down to $15, originally $30. I own the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer and I love it. It’s a cooler tone than a lot of other bronzers on the market so you don’t have to worry about it being too orange. The matte finish also keeps it looking natural. Plus, it blends out easily and evenly. The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer comes in three shades for light, medium, and dark skin tones. If a matte bronzer isn’t your thing, the Sun Bunny, Chocolate Gold Soleil, Sweethearts, and the Tutti Frutti Highlighting and Bronzing Duo are also included in the sale.
