The Coolest New Products I Found On Sephora.com This Week

new at sephora

Let’s be honest, we all do it. We *should* be answering the emails that are piling up, or cleaning up the mess we made of our closets trying to find something to wear, but instead we’re scrolling through Sephora’s website trying to figure out how we’re going to justify our next #TreatYoSelf order. There’s something about scrolling through all of those new products on Sephora that’s just so satisfying. In an attempt to try to pretend I’ve actually been doing something productive, I’ve decided to start sharing the coolest new products I’ve found here on the blog. I don’t know if I should be saying “you’re welcome” or “I’m sorry” for this post, but either way, let’s get to it.

The Coolest New Makeup at Sephora

Milk Makeup Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder $29

Milk Makeup setting powder sephora

Source: MilkMakeup.com

What it is:

A matte setting powder that absorbs oil. Silicone-free and talc-free.

Why it’s cool:

Avocado powder. Honestly, if you so much as whisper the word ‘avocado’ my ears perk up. Like nearly every other millenial, I’m obsessed with avocados, so when I read that Milk’s new setting powder had avocado powder in it, I was immediately intrigued. As far as skin benefits, avocado contains antioxidants and flavonols which are great for preventing the signs of aging.

The powder also comes in three shades- light, medium, and deep- so there’s an option that will work for everyone.

Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara $29

Hourglass Extreme Caution Mascara Sephora

Source: CultBeauty

What it is:

Hourglass’s newest mascara, which features a 4DAmplifier brush to create dramatic volume and length.

Why it’s cool:

Claims to be smudge-proof and flake proof.  Innovative brush. Gorgeous packaging. Vegan and cruelty free. Available in a mini, so you can try it out without having to commit to a full size.

Marc Jacobs O!mega Gel Powder Eyeshadow $29

Marc Jacobs Omega Gel Eyeshadow Sephora

Source: MarcJacobsBeauty.com

What it is:

An oversized eyeshadow single with a long-wear gel formula.

Why it’s cool:

The two things that really excite me about this product are the claims of a 12-hour wear time and the curated color selection. The gel formula is supposed to be crease-resistant, buttery, and vivid. These singles were curated by makeup artist Diane Kendal with the intention of providing the most essential eyeshadow shades. They’re supposed to be the shades that you’re most likely to hit pan on in an eyeshadow palette. Although I could never describe myself as a makeup minimalist, these eyeshadows would definitely be perfect for anyone who only uses a few shades on a day to day basis.

Becca Skin Love Glow Glaze Stick $28

becca skin love glow glaze stick sephora

Source: BeccaCosmetics.com

What it is:

A sheer, dewy highlighter stick with skincare benefits.

Why it’s cool:

Designed to create a more natural glow, this highlighter has added skincare benefits from vitamin C, ginger, avocado, melon, murumuru butter, and hyaluronic acid to increase hydration.

NARS 7 Deadly Sins Audacious Lipstick Palette $52

nars 7 deadly sins lipstick palette sephora

Source: NarsCosmetics.com

What it is:

A palette of lipstick shades from neutrals to bold colors inspired by the 7 deadly sins.

Why it’s cool:

Sultry, seductive, and versatile shades with a theme that appeals to a darker nature. It’s fun and sexy, but still practical. I could totally see myself travelling with this palette because it has everything I would need.

Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss $22

bite beauty french press lip gloss sephora

Source: BiteBeauty.com

What it is:

A collection of lip glosses inspired by coffee.

Why it’s cool:

Bite makes some of my favorite lip products, but a coffee themed collection (with a mocha flavor!) is so right up my alley it’s not even funny. As if that wasn’t enough, these glosses also contain cold pressed arabica coffee oil and coffee butter for hydration. Bite’s lip products are so safe you could literally eat them, and honestly I think I would be finding excuses to lick my lips if I was wearing one of the French Press glosses. Coffee lip gloss is definitely one of the coolest things I’ve encountered this year.

Burberry Lip Velvet Crush Sheer Matte Lip Stain $30

burberry lip velvet crush lip stain sephora

Source: Burberry

What it is:

A sheer matte lip stain.

Why it’s cool:

The packaging of this lip stain is really what caught my attention because it’s a stick with a cushion applicator. The powder matte finish seems to be similar to the lip powders that have been somewhat popular this year. Burberry also claims that the product will keep lips hydrated for up to eight hours. This is one of those products where I’m not quite sure how it would be possible to pull off all of the claims, but I’m definitely intrigued. If it does work, I think it would be an awesome product.

The Coolest New Skincare at Sephora

Go-To Face Hero $34

go to skincare face hero sephora

Source: GoToSkincare.com

What it is:

A light, hydrating and soothing face oil.

Why it’s cool:

Talk about great ingredients! Face Hero contains buriti oil, an ingredient derived from moriche palm, that helps to reduce redness, inflammation, and irritation. The other ingredients in Face Hero also provide fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. Face Hero is supposed to be great for addressing texture concerns, which is one of my biggest problems. This oil is definitely high on my “I need to try this” list.

Herbivore Prism Exfoliating Glow Potion $62

herbivore prism sephora

Source: HerbivoreBotanicals.com

What it is:

An exfoliating serum.

Why it’s cool:

A variety of fruit acids provide a natural form of exfoliation, paired with rose and aloe for hydration, and vitamin C from kakadu plum to help fade dark spots and create a more even skin tone. The willow bark and aloe also provide BHA, which helps to treat acne. This serum basically runs the gamut in terms of ingredients that will help you to prevent, treat, and heal acne.

Kora Organics Tumeric 2-in-1 Brightening & Exfoliating Mask $48

kora organics tumeric mask sephora

Source: KoraOrganics.com

What it is:

An exfoliating wash-off face mask.

Why it’s cool:

The exfoliation from this mask helps to improve many skin concerns, such as texture, acne, and hyperpigmentation. It can work as a great alternative to acids for people whose skin is too sensitive to use AHA and BHA. There are numerous beneficial ingredients in this mask, but turmeric is the star of the show. It’s an amazing ingredient for the skin because it reduces inflammation and hyperpigmentation, and provides antioxidants.

Youth To The People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream $58

youth to the people adaptogen moisture cream sephora

Source: Sephora.com

What it is:

An ultra-hydrating moisturizer that also helps to calm skin.

Why it’s cool:

Adaptogens! There’s been a trend of using adaptogens in topical beauty products lately, which I think is really interesting. If you’ve never heard of adaptogens before, they’re herbs and other plants, often mushrooms, which have properties that can alleviate stress and fatigue. Typically they’re used as a health supplement in pill, powder, or tea form. There’s not a whole lot of research on them in general yet, and even less on their topical skin benefits. However, I think it’s definitely an interesting premise and I’ll admit I’m dying to try it. The adaptogens in Youth to the People’s moisturizer come from ashwagandha and reishi mushrooms, and from the plants rhodiola and holy basil.

Fresh Sugar Wonder Drops Lip Primer $26

Fresh sugar wonder drops sephora

Source: Fresh.com

What it is:

A water-based hydrating and exfoliating leave-on lip treatment.

Why it’s cool:

Sugar, fruit extract, hibiscus extract, and AHA are combined to exfoliate the lips and prepare them for lip color. Rather than the typical lip scrub, this is a liquid that you simply dispense onto your finger and rub onto your lips. There’s no need to rinse, it absorbs in to your lips. It’s a clever treatment and a great advancement in lip care.

Becca Skin Love Glow Elixir $48

becca skin love glow elixir sephora

Source: BeccaCosmetics.com

What it is:

A brightening serum that doubles as a primer.

Why it’s cool:

The ingredients in this are dope! When I heard about Becca’s latest launch of skin-focused products I was skeptical. The brand is known for makeup, and often when a makeup brand tries their hand at skincare it’s just not up to par. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this serum is absolutely loaded with amazing ingredients, part of which make up Becca’s Glow Nectar Brightening Hydra Complex. For brightening and hydrating, the serum contains molasses, honey, algae, peony extract, sodium hyaluronate and licorice. The serum also provides a range of antioxidants from blueberry extract, cranberry extract, resveratrol, and vitamin E.

Although this serum is full of amazing ingredients, there are two additions to this serum that I wish Becca would’ve left out: added fragrance and color. There’s no need for them in skincare and they can have mild negative effects, such as irritation. Even with those downsides, I think this is still an interesting product because of the massive amount of beneficial ingredients.

Moon Juice Beauty Shroom Plumping Jelly Serum $58

Moon Juice Beauty Shroom Serum Sephora

Source: MoonJuice.com

What it is:

A plumping and smoothing serum featuring adaptogenic ingredients.

Why it’s cool:

I’m mostly familiar with Moon Juice for their health supplements, so I was immediately curious when I saw that they’d released a skincare product. Similar to Youth to the People’s new adaptogenic moisturizer, this serum contains mushrooms, specifically silver ear mushroom and reishi mushrooms that provide adaptogenic benefits. This product is also cruelty-free, silicone-free, dye free, and fragrance free.

HUM Nutrition Collagen Pop $12

hum nutrition collagen pop Sephora

Source: UrbanOutfitters.com

What it is:

A collagen supplement in a dissolvable tablet form.

Why it’s cool:

I use and love HUM’s melatonin supplement to help me when I can’t sleep, so I’m always excited when I see a new release from this brand. Ingesting collagen is an incredible way to help your skin from the inside out. It helps to increase firmness, elasticity, and hydration, while also helping to prevent the skin from showing signs of aging in the future. Collagen Pop also contains vitamin C, which is great for the immune system and for encouraging the body’s natural collagen production. This package contains 10 tablets, but you can get a 30 day supply from HUM’s website for $30.

Moon Juice SuperYou Daily Stress Manangement Supplement $49

Moon Juice Super You Sephora

Source: MoonJuice.com

What it is:

An adaptogenic health supplement that helps to reduce cortisol levels.

Why it’s cool:

Stress is often an unavoidable aspect of life, but using adaptogens can help us to cope with stress in a more efficient way. SuperYou contains four adaptogenic ingredients that help to reduce stress and the stress-related hormone, cortisol. When the body gets stressed out, it makes a surplus of cortisol, which has a bunch of unpleasant side effects such as a weakened immune system, cardiovascular issues, and stress-related fat gain. Using adaptogens can help to balance the body’s cortisol levels and improve overall health. According to Moon Juice, SuperYou can reduce cortisol levels by up to 24%.

Moon Juice Blue Beauty Adaptogenic Protein Powder $50

Moon Juice Blue Beauty Adaptogenic Protein Sephora

Source: MoonJuice.com

What it is:

A plant-based protein powder with adaptogens.

Why it’s cool:

Blue beauty combines the health benefits of protein and adaptogens to address a wide range of health problems such as energy, cortisol levels, skin, hair, and nail health in a supplement that’s vegan and keto-friendly.  Protein powder is a vital part of my regular supplement routine since I’m a vegetarian and weightlifting is one of my favorite forms of exercise. I’ve never seen a supplement that combines protein and adaptogens before, and I think this is a great way to address both concerns at once. This protein powder is also gluten-free and soy-free.

The Coolest New Fragrance at Sephora

Kilian’s My Kind of Love fragrance line

Kilian My Kind of Love Sephora

Source: Sephora.com

What it is:

A new range of fun, sexy fragrances from Kilian Hennessy. Prices are $30 for a 7ml travel spray, $75 for a 30ml bottle, and $135 for a 100ml bottle.

Why it’s cool:

This line combines sleek, sexy packaging with witty themes and clever combinations of notes to create something out of the ordinary. The frangrances in the line are Princess, Kissing, Boys, and Adults. Princess includes notes of ginger, green tea, and marshmallow. Kissing is made up of Lily of the Valley, hot milk, and sugary candy. Boys is a combination of cola, cinnamon, and cedarwood. Adults combines fig milk, cedarwood, and vanilla. All of these intrigue me, but the cola note in Boys is what has me the most excited for this new line.

The Coolest New Body Care at Sephora

There was nothing that exciting me in this category. It’s kind of a mid-season slump for body care. Too late for summer products, too early for fall products.

The Coolest New Hair Care at Sephora

Playa Supernatural Conditioner $34

Playa Supernatural Conditioner Sephora

Source: PlayaBeauty.com

What it is:

A deep conditioner that nourishes damaged hair and smooths frizz.

Why it’s cool:

The whole Playa line is new to Sephora, but the product that caught my interest immediately was the Supernatural Conditioner. I love all things spooky, so a name like ‘supernatural’ is right up my alley. Unfortunately, it doesn’t contain ghosts that will hold the hair drier up for you when your arms get tired, but it does contain some interesting ingredients. Baobab protein helps to strengthen damaged hair, and amazonian oils help the hair to retain moisture. The Playa line is all about effortless beauty. It’s designed around the concept of being able to skip styling and just enhance the natural texture of your hair, which is something that sounds like a dream come true to me!

The Coolest New Tools and Brushes at Sephora

Nothing caught my eye here either!

Hopefully this post was actually helpful in some way and not just an example of me indulging in self-destructive behaviors (I think I’m kidding??). Let me know if there are any other retailers you want to see me do this for. I’m thinking maybe Urban Outfitters or even Scentbird? Lemme know if you’re into it.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks! I’ve heard such great things about that Hourglass mascara! I’m so curious to see if it’s any better than the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara I’ve been using for the last few months.
